Outreach Week

Well each semester the Bible College sends all the students and most of the staff on various outreaches for a week. This semester we have teams going out to Lepzig, Denmark, Ireland, England, Prague, Vienna, and Wattersbach (me)
There are four on my team: Eric, me, Valentina, Helena
We are going to a village near Frankfurt and we are going to be doing street evangelism including worship and a skit, Worship and teaching at a youth event, bible study and youth group of the local church. We are a small team and there are a lot of loose ends that we have to tie up so we really covet your prayers for us. We will be gone from 10/18-10/25

-Prayer against Spiritual attacks and oppression
-Prayer for boldness and confidence in witnessing
-Prayer for leading of the Holy Spirit in all the trip
-Prayer for learning the skit
-Prayer for me to learn the cajon quickly :-)
-Prayer for travel protection
-Prayer for the hearts of the people of this town and the surrounding area as we share with them
-Prayer for the words of the Holy Spirit as we teach at these various events

Munich

Munich Trip

We left at 11pm and got in Munich at 9am the next day.

We had a lot of energy at first

We had a 4.5 hour layover in Giesen from midnight to 4:30am. Shenanigans right off the bat.
Here is where we first slept on the train station. And yes, that is beer on the floor

After we got kicked out of the bar and grill (Mr. Jones) we tried to sleep in front of the station. That bum at the door farted on us.

It was so stinkin cold!

After a long night sleeping on the floor of the fast train we were rewarded in Munich by Liederhosen!

Hey, guys!

I hope you all are doing well. I’m doing well over here. The Lord has been showing me a lot of things. I thought I would share something with you.

Acts 12:5-17 is a very cool story about Peter. But it is very interesting to read this story with the church in mind.

Peter was of course in an impossible situation, chained on each side by guards and two guards at each gate on a four shifts throughout the night.

The Bible says later in verse 5 “BUT prayer was made without ceasing of the church”. The word Greek word that is used for without ceasing carries with it a meaning of reaching with all your might for something. This is the same word that Luke uses in his gospel to describe Jesus prayer in the garden. The church was praying earnestly, together; group prayers.

Our prayers are indeed powerful. In Matt. 16:19 it says,

“And I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven, whatever you bind on the earth, will be bound in heaven. And whatever you loose on earth it will be loosed in heaven.”

Now sometimes it feels like we have to be really good at praying or have to be experienced Christians to be effective people, but that is not the case.

Proverbs 15:29 says that the Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Notice he does not say perfect people or even really spiritual or good people, just righteous. James 5:16 also says that the prayers of the righteous avail much. Again no mention of perfection.

This is really good because we aren’t perfect. But all Christians are righteous. The moment we accept Christ we are made righteous in His sight.

These people that God used weren’t perfect either. In fact, if you read on to verses 14-16, they didn’t really have a whole lot of faith. They didn’t believe he was at the door. Weren’t they praying for his deliverance!?

The great thing is that God uses normal folks with flaws and all; He is big enough to still use us with extreme effectiveness. Even Elijah dealt with depression and for a time didn’t even want to do God’s work again.

Jesus only needs the faith of a mustard seed. It isn’t really how great your faith is, but how great your God is. If you call the fire department and they put out the fire, you don’t thank your phone for putting out the fire.

I really like this because I am not perfect and I don’t have a perfect faith, but God is still wanting to use me. He wants to use all of us. Prayer is something that we can all do and we are called to do, but we must pray with the intensity and expectation that God will do a work and glorify His name. Anyways, this is getting long, but I just wanted to share that with y’all.
